The park in Hamburg Osdorf was named after the Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen in 2005. In the summer of 2007, the site was redesigned and stone fairy tale figures based on the poet's stories were installed.

A giant sea snake squirms on extensive lawns, the naked emperor is waiting for new clothes, or a massive throne invites you to climb. Just three of the many figures that await visitors of all ages along the way.

Picturesque garden images are created by the design, in which not only the old trees were included in the landscape. A shallow ditch runs through the meadows like an imaginary river and can be crossed over two stone bridges. In the meantime, new fruit trees have been planted and an orchard has been created with signs on each tree. The old buildings behind hedges are now used as artists' studios.
Games, sports and leisure areas round off the range of leisure activities for families.

The park was created between 2005 and 2009 to compensate for the denser development in Alt Osdorf. It was named after the Danish writer Hans-Christian-Andersen in honor of the 200th birthday of his birth.

The sculptor Jan Amelung equipped the park with various sandstone and steel figures from Hans-Christian Andersen's fairy tales.

Adjacent to this area is the listed former rural nursing home, which served as accommodation for orphans at the beginning of the last century. In the current parking areas there were gardens for the residents to provide for themselves. In the park planning, the historic orchard of the rural nursing home was taken into account, the old fruit varieties were identified and appropriate trees were added. The types of fruit can be found on information boards.

Play and sports facilities complete the park's offerings. This makes the park an attraction for children and adult fairy tale and nature lovers.
