The Gardierwerk, but most people call it the Saline and so this place was simply called the Salinenplatz.
Gardierwerke used to be used for salt production, but today they serve to improve the health of body and mind.
Bundles of twigs are sprinkled with brine, i.e. salty water. The resulting salty air has an expectorant, relaxing effect and improves lung function. So just sit on a bench and let your mind wander!
