An immense collapse of the Rivas cliffs has created a wonderful viewpoint at the confluence of the Manzanares and Jarama rivers. It is worth having to push the bike in this section, since it is impossible to ignore the panorama.

Highly recommended, there are sections that you have to cross some streams, in the Rey Dam you have to literally climb up a scree. Be very careful on this stretch. Stop at the viewpoint and enjoy the views of the Jarama River. Following the road to San Martín you can see the bunkers.

More than the landslide itself, what is really worth visiting are the well-known "Cortados de Rivas". Its walls and the proximity of the Jarama River are impressive, a unique landscape in Madrid.

For those who are not from Madrid: the Manzanares is a river in the center of the Iberian Peninsula, a tributary to the right of the Jarama, which in turn is a tributary of the Tagus.
It is easy to reach the confluence of both rivers by bike, the difference in level is almost zero.

The collapse, despite its few meters, a mix of hiking and carrying that raises the heart rate of even the most experienced, always offers one of the most picturesque views of the Madrid region near the capital: the confluence of the Manzanares and Jarama rivers, the Presa del Rey, a privileged panoramic view over parts of Rivas and Arganda, facing the mountains where much of the Battle of Jarama took place, and of course the cliffs. Having passed by there many times, it never leaves me indifferent.
