    Just a few meters and steps above the Road to the Isles you can enjoy great views of Loch Shiel, the Glenfinnan Monument, the River Finnan and the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct.

            From this vantage point you kill 2 birds with one stone: both the Glenfinnan Monument at Loch Shiel and the viaduct (Harry Potter fans may come to Howards from here 😉) can be wonderfully photographed here. At the bottom of the paid parking lot there is a Visitors Center and a coffee shop.

                      I think it's worth mentioning that while the view of the viaduct is quite nice, the path there is by no means easy. It's a forest path with large, uneven stone steps and even roots. There's no railing, and therefore it's not without danger, especially in wet conditions. Those with walking sticks should think very carefully about this, but even those with knee problems might curse. Halfway up, there's a bench exposed to the elements.
