The terrace is beautifully situated above the city, from here you have an exceptional panoramic view over Lake Geneva and the port of Rives.
Several restaurants and bars have settled nearby.

The statue that decorates the square was inaugurated on September 6, 1910.
This work by the sculptor Louis Noel represents Joseph Marie Dessaix, also known as "Bayard de la Savoie".

The square lives up to its name because the view of the lake and the lower part of the city is fantastic. There are some shady trees here, so that the many benches that are set up here are often occupied - even by locals who have "siesta" here.
The prominently placed statue shows Joseph Marie Dessaix, a successful French general who, spurred on by the French Revolution, came a long way. He was born in Thonon-les-Bains in 1764.

Probably the most beautiful place to enjoy the magnificent view over the harbor, Lake Geneva and the Swiss shore on the other side of the lake. Right next to the square is the station of the funicular, which connects the city and the harbor.
