Consecrated in 1628, the Ev.-Luth. Church in Lauter with rectory and cantorate an ensemble. The memorial bell is located in the adjacent cemetery as a bell tower and memorial for those who fell in the world wars.

The parish church in the center of the city (Pfarrstrasse) goes back to a village church that was documented here around 1250. The current Evangelical Lutheran church was completed in 1628 and has since been restored several times.

The Evangelical Lutheran parish church in Lauter in the town of Lauter-Bernsbach is a small hall church.

After the previous church, built around 1500, was demolished on May 8, 1628 due to its dilapidation, a new church was built on the same site. The roof was already covered on September 18, 1628 and the weathercock and tower knob were installed. Nine days later, the bells from the Hilliger family's Freiberg workshop were also pulled onto the tower. On September 28th, Christian Portenreuther, the pastor of Aue, where Lauter was parish until 1737, inaugurated the new church.

The plastered quarry stone building has a choir closed on three sides and a slate-clad octagonal roof turret with a curved hood. The entrance hall on the west side with a staircase to the galleries was added in 1728. The area of the church is around 12 × 25 meters.
