The Katzental volunteer fire brigade is a departmental brigade from Billigheim. It was re-established on January 1st, 1946 and today consists of an operations department, the old age defense and the youth department. The fire station was originally the station building at the time of the Schefflenz Valley Railway. On May 3rd, 1992, after conversion and renovation, the new fire station was occupied.
