Niederaula is the seat of the Evangelical Church Community of Niederaula and Kerspenhausen. The church has a medieval tower, while the nave was built in 1775.
The Niederaulas church had at least two previous buildings. As already mentioned, the current house was built in 1775 and is based on the older church tower, where Romanesque traces indicate that the earlier tower was built in this style: There are also remains of a previous building in the Gothic style on the current church . On the lower floor of the eastern tower there is a Gothic window and the beginnings of a pointed arch vault. On the second floor there is a shooting hole on each of the four sides, while on the top floor there is an arched panel with double windows on the walls. The tower was once completed with a wooden helmet, which was repaired and replaced during renovation work.
