Some years ago I had driven the tour from Pluwigerhammer to just above Kell. However, I find the route directly from Ruwer to Zerf (of course, cuts have superimposed!) Scenic. On this piece you can see the Ruwer very often. And a fantastic forest right and left. But that gives him then direction Kell. The landscape becomes more open. But overall as always in life: a matter of taste!
In any case, there are clearly more opportunities to turn in the direction of. Also an argument :-) :-) :-)

The Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path uses the route of the former Ruwer railway for over 90% of its route and, alongside the Maare-Mosel and Schinderhannes cycle paths, is one of the most distinctive railway cycle paths in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The first 2/3 of the route runs in a steady, gentle climb through the winding, narrow and absolutely quiet valley of the Ruwer through many cuttings, dams and over newly built or renovated bridges. Between Waldrach and Niederkell (26 km) the route is away from towns and only now and then a few houses flash through the green of the forest. The highest point is reached on the watershed between Kell and Reinsfeld. The last 10 km to Hermeskeil lead through a plateau-like landscape at the foot of the Hochwald.
Hunsrück: Popular bike tour

Requirements:
The Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path is suitable for everyone, although there are clear differences depending on the direction of travel: From the Moselle valley to the Hunsrück, around 400 m have to be overcome to reach the highest point after around 38 km, which corresponds to an average gradient of only 1.1%, but is an endurance challenge for inexperienced cyclists. Conversely, it rolls from the heights into the valley on its own. The "RegioRadler "Ruwer-Hochwald" serves as an "ascent aid".
