Location and history: In the north of Esslingen, at the foot of the Kirschenbuckels, stands the Seracher Schlössle, built in 1820 by chief magistrate Karl August Georgi as a country house.
The Serach Castle is a two-storey, small plastered building, on the gable side facing the slope, originally a flat gable roof, today with a mansard roof
Its most famous owner, Count Alexander von Württemberg, not only had it expanded in 1834, but also made it a popular meeting place for the Swabian circle of poets. In the new salon he received, among others Justinus Kerner, Hermann Kurz, Nikolaus Lenau, Ludwig Uhland and Gustav Schwab.
In 1864 the Seracher Schlössle was bought by Prince Felix von Hohenlohe-Öhringen. He also expanded it, but had to sell it to Öhringer Bank because he had taken over financially.
The park, which was originally laid out in the style of an English garden, was set up as a public park in 1962.
In addition to the native trees, there are now imported trees and the like. a. from the Caucasus, North America, Japan, China, the Himalayas, South Korea, South America in the Seracher Arboretum.
Today the Schlössle is privately owned. And therefore unfortunately cannot be visited.
