Day Hill near Duluth, MN is a mysterious and scenic spot that will intrigue hikers. This hill is named after Frank Day, a Duluth businessman who built a stone fireplace on the summit in the early 1900s. No one knows why or who he did it for, but the fireplace remains a lonely reminder of his story. The hike to Day Hill is short but steep, offering amazing views of Lake Superior and Split Rock Lighthouse.

"According to local legend, Duluth businessman Frank Day - the site's namesake - purchased the land upon which the hill sits. He intended to build a dream home for his beloved atop the rock.He started with the massive stone fireplace, but Day's love abandoned him before he built more.
