The former Helenahoeve cheese farm is located in the Deurnese Peel, a beautiful nature reserve on the border of North Brabant and Limburg. This special house was built in 1910 for a peat boss of the Van der Griendt dyeing company.
The Deurnese Peel is part of De Groote Peelen National Park. This beautiful area is formed by peat land where peat was previously cut. In this way, more beautiful nature reserves were created in the Netherlands at the beginning of the last century.

The special thing about Deurnese Peel are the narrow canals that have been constructed in the shape of a trident. These are the so-called “neighborhoods” that end up on the Deurne Canal. They were intended to efficiently dispose of the peat.
De Groote Peelen National Park is now a beautiful nature reserve that is ideally suited for walking or cycling. De Deurense Peel is a bird-rich area, with species such as curlew, water rail, grasshopper warbler, pochard, shoveler and teal. The Taiga Bean Goose hibernates there and the Crane uses it as a stopover during migration time.
Holiday home Helenahoeve is beautifully situated on the water. The dining room / kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher), the comfortable living room, the two bedrooms, the bathroom (with bath), the lovely garden and the terrace with a fantastic view of the nature reserve behind will give you a relaxed holiday feeling.
