In a small forest near Darup is the "forest chapel", inside of which is a miraculous, adorable, life-size crucifix made of sandstone on the tree cross, created by the sculptor (Wilhelm Heinrich) Kocks in 1718.
The chapel is located in the middle of the forest on Daruper Berg between the old country road Coesfeld-Münster (Postweg) and the federal road 525. The cross stands on an altar (calvary) and looks like a mighty tree.
