The five district parks have been the green lungs of the region since the 1970s. It is no coincidence that they are all located near the Emscher, because here the population is particularly dense and natural and recreational areas were rare.
The original idea of the Revierparks was born in the 1920s in Osterfeld and Vonderort and developed over time. Today we find modern exercise and leisure facilities here, including a water playground and a brand new nature trail.
