The so-called Schloss Dahlwitz is actually a manor house and belongs to the type of tower villas that were often built in Berlin and Brandenburg around the middle of the 19th century in the style of late classicism. It was built in 1855/56 for the then landowner Karl Heinrich von Treskow according to plans by the Berlin architect Friedrich Hitzig, a master builder from Schinkel's generation of students. The castle is located in a 4-hectare park that Peter Joseph Lenné designed as early as 1821.
Until 1997, the former manor house served as a kindergarten and after-school care center for the neighboring school. After a planned privatization of the castle failed, the Brandenburgische Schlösser GmbH took over the building in 2004 and renovated it at great expense. The castle has been owned by a private owner since 2019.
