The Saupark is still listed here on many older maps and sounds promising for an animal park; but it isn't one. There are no pigs or other animals to be seen here. The path to the house in the forest is closed/private and not accessible to the public from the Königsallee. "From the back around" but a forest path leads past the house.

At almost 70 km², the Sachsenwald is Schleswig-Holstein's largest contiguous forest area. It is an unincorporated area belonging to the Amt Hohe Elbgeest. It belongs to the central area of Geesthacht and corresponds to the district of Sachsenwald.
The Sachsenwald is divided into three districts:
Aumühle district (west)
District Wohltorf (South)
Rodenteich district (east)
The Schleswig-Holstein residential area register as of May 25, 1987 (census) lists six residential areas in the area, which are not part of the Sachsenwald, but belong as exclaves to the municipality of Aumühle and are only surrounded by the area of the Sachsenwald:

Witzhaver ViertThe Black Au flows through the Sachsenwald in an east-west direction and cuts into the ground moraine landscape near Friedrichsruh. The Bille flows along the north-western border of the area, into which the Schwarze Au flows at Aumühle.
The Sachsenwald consists mainly of deciduous forest, but the forestry character is increasing. There is still a rare stock of an oak hat forest.
The entire Bille valley is a nature reserve and registered as an FFH area.
