The keep is the last remnant of the Bruchsal Episcopal Castle. The castle dates back to the 11th century.

The Citizens' Park was created at the end of the 1980s in conjunction with the construction of the Citizens' Center with the City Theater. Today, the Citizens' Center and Citizens' Park are venues for a variety of cultural and social events.
