Billwerder is a rural El Dorado on the Bille River.
Although Billwerder has shrunk over time, there is plenty to do in this green village of streets and marshes. Here, you can not only ride, cycle, and hike, but also explore the rich history of the painting trade.

The new Oberbillwerder district is also planned for construction here.

The Billwerder Billdeich winds its way romantically through a very special part of Hamburg: Even before the Second World War, Billwerder, stretching to 17 kilometers, was considered the longest street village in Europe. However, since various sections were given to neighboring districts and renamed – for example, Billbrookdeich – the Billwerder Billdeich is now "only" around eight kilometers long. The Bille River winds almost parallel to it through the landscape, south of the Boberger Niederung nature reserve with its enormous sand dunes.
