An artificially created dam runs along Klosterstrasse, damming the Piepenbek to the house moat or school pond. There is an avenue of old linden trees and a gnarled oak tree, which is protected as a natural monument. Under these trees on the east side, the former school path runs towards the “Old School”, which shimmers through the foliage north of the pond and was used as a primary school until 1972. Therefore, the house moat is just called “school pond” by the older Reinfelders. Before the school was built in 1839, a Renaissance castle of the Plöner Dukes stood there between 1604 and 1775. At that time, the pond surrounded the stately house in a ring, and this is how the pond got the name “Hausgraben”.
