After the rather tough climb, the impressive panoramic view over the Murg Valley, the Rhine plain, and the Vosges Mountains (which can also be viewed via webcam) is a reward.
On weekends, however, the summit is regularly very busy. Since cars and motorcycles can drive up to the summit, the approach and descent on the narrow, winding road can be quite stressful with heavy traffic, so it's better to come during the week. However, the inn is closed then – it's only open Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
⚠️ Due to the combination of significant damage to the surface, the poorly visible curves, the narrow road width, and the steep gradient, the descent is extremely(!) challenging! While the gradient potentially allows you to reach a speed that would make the 30 km/h sign smile wearily at least, it's wise not to let it roll along without any compromises! In summer, even disc brakes reach their limits here, which is why I only recommend it with great caution - especially on your very first visit when you're unfamiliar with the route.
