The Nemaling tent camp, at an altitude of 4,800 meters, is battered by the wind on a wide plateau - flanked by the 6,400 meter high Kang Yatse with its glacier flanks and the 5,200 meter high Kongmaru La Pass. On the slope, shepherd families have built a temporary village over the summer, where they gather their sheep, goats and dzos in the evening. They sell fresh yogurt and cheese. There is even cold beer in the homestay tent.
