In the middle of the Serrahner beech forests, between the quiet lakes and mysterious moors, lies the Steinmühle Youth Forest Home. It is an educational center of the Müritz National Park Office and wants to inspire young people in particular for nature and wilderness. There is a wide range of offers that are not only aimed at children and young people, but also at adults. There is also the possibility to stay overnight in the youth hostel.

There are not many places where nature is so diverse and contrastingly preserved as in the vicinity of the stone mill. Varied beech forests stretch to the north. Embedded in it are many untouched moors. To the north, the landscape opens up through the water surface of the Grünower See. Meadows and fields follow. From a geological point of view, the former water mill is located in a landscape that was strongly influenced by the events of the last ice age.

The students can get to know and experience the characteristic habitats of the national park, forest, lakes and moor. The ability of ecosystems to self-regulate can be illustrated in a wonderful way at "nature as a place of learning".

A stay of several days in the Müritz National Park with intensive care in small groups enables a profound examination of nature.

Various daily programs are offered.
