Fragment of our hiking experience in Winterberg
Day 6:
The Winterberg in its summer…
Twists go through my head.
My mind has yet to process these thoughts.
It's summer… August 17th
At Kappe, 776 meters above sea level, the temperature is only 10° degrees.
The firmament above Winterberg is colored 50 shades of grey.
At the start we still enjoy summery melodies that flutter down in the shopping street.
Heat cannons bring a warm atmosphere to the streets.
Well-dressed grandparents, with a cup of mulled wine in hand, smile at their grandchildren at the winter fair in Winterberg.
My wife likes it…
Kick and Go and after tens of euros lighter 'go Up to the Mountain'.
From the summer fair to the winter fair on the Kappe, the highlight of our walk.
Along narrow forest roads to the Bobsleigh track and finally arrive at the panoramic terrace. A pity, but we were unable to enjoy beautiful views due to the dense cloud cover. That is why we left the panorama bridge unused.
At the peak of the day, here again a concentration of colorful day trippers.
Everyone wants to reach their own peak here.
A mix of helmeted mountain bikers and Nordic walkers in their best outfits bring color to this gray day in their own way.
In the wake of the screaming children we start our descent via the toboggan run.
And before we knew it we were back downstairs and it was done.
It was an experience to discover Winterberg in 'full summer'.
