A must-do for anyone traveling in the Wörthersee area. Everyone should enjoy this view at least once. If you're feeling daring, you can throw yourself down the slide. Definitely worth a visit. The slide or base jumping costs extra.

Nice place. Totally overrun with tourist buses.
14€ entry to the tower. It doesn't matter whether you climb the 860 steps or take the lift. Sliding costs an additional €4.
The children's playground is quite nice.

At 100 meters high, the Pyramidenkogel is the tallest wooden observation tower.
There are over 400 flights of stairs to climb - but thank God there is an elevator, the use of which is included in the entrance fee.
Tip: Take the elevator upstairs and then "work" down comfortably on foot and enjoy different views and perspectives, including the staircase steel construction.

You don't approach it, you are drawn to it – the Pyramidenkogel, this graceful giant in the forests above Lake Wörthersee, which looks as if a giant had planted a spiral egg of wood and steel in the sky. The tower winds its way upwards like a dancing sculpture, 100 meters of lightness, constructed from what is both solid and fleeting: wood, steel, and the view.

Even from below, it seems like a promise. And those who take the narrow path through the sparse forest soon realize: This isn't about conquering, but about letting go. You climb 441 steps, each different, each a small beat in the rhythm of the ascent – accompanied by air, light, birdsong, and the occasional gasp. If you're lucky, you can hear the wind whistling between the slats, as if the tower itself were breathing.

Above: silence. Or rather: a great, expansive calm. The view falls upon Lake Wörthersee, lying in the landscape like a carefully smoothed silk scarf, lined with villas, steeped in memories of summer days. You can see far, all the way to the Karawanks, into the blue of your thoughts.

And if the climb was too much – or too little – for you, you can take the slide. Yes, really. A 120-meter spiral, stainless steel against gravity, an inner child against the outside world of the adult world. Those who dare can whizz down with a whoop – or with gritted teeth. That's allowed, too.
