The Bordesholmer See is a worthwhile excursion destination in many ways. The idyllic circular cycle path around the lake is six kilometers long. This beautiful route includes the Bordesholmer monastery, many small bays to linger in with a wonderful view of the lake, a relaxing area of forest and various bathing areas.
There is a small sandy beach, a pier, a bathing island and a sunbathing area at the outdoor swimming pool on Bordesholmer See. Admission is free. The Seeterrassen café restaurant at the bathing establishment is open all year round and has a wonderful view of the lake.

Great route on Bordesholmer See. The Bordesholm monastery church is an elongated brick building that catches the eye from afar. The church is towerless, the high gable roof supports a roof rider. In its uniform Gothic forms, the church is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the country. Construction began in 1309 and the church was consecrated in 1332.
