    Interesting church, which is completely different inside than usual in our region. You can see a lot. For example, you can walk up the musician's staircase (there are many information boards about the history here) to the upper floor and from there to the other end of the nave.

          St. Gumbertus, together with its neighboring church St. Johannis, is one of the central inner-city churches of Ansbach in Bavaria.

          The Monastery of St Gumbert, dedicated to St Gumbert, St Mary and St Salvator, was founded by St Gumbert. From 748 to 911/1012 it was a Benedictine monastery; later it was a collegiate foundation. It was dissolved in 1563 and the provost was no longer occupied. The monastery goods formed a fund for church and school purposes under state administration, which was only secularized under Maximilian von Montgelas. St. Gumbertus Church serves as the Evangelical Lutheran parish church.
