            The Süllberg can be seen from afar. No wonder, at 76 m above sea level, it is one of the highest elevations in Hamburg. Some call it "Hamburg's local mountain". The Süllberg is part of the Blankeneser Elbhang, on which probably 5,000 steps connect the many small and large, simple and magnificent houses in the famous staircase district.
            A tourist restaurant and hotel sit enthroned on the Süllberg. It is currently (as of 2022) being renovated. You can't get to the side facing the Elbe at the moment. That's a pity, because the view down is fantastic. The only thing that helps is waiting. An ascent through the staircase district is still recommended.

                Around the Süllberg is the Blankeneser stairs district, if you are good on foot you should take your time and explore the many stairs, including a fantastic view of the houses and the Elbe. With the so-called mountain goat, a small bus of the Hochbahn / HVV, you can get from the Blankeneser train station to the Strandweg and back when your condition is at the end 😉

                        The Süllberg (originally "Sollenberge") in the Hamburg district of Blankenese is, at 74.6 m above sea level, one of the highest elevations in the Hanseatic city.
                        With its striking silhouette, it shapes the public image of the district and is often referred to as Hamburg's local mountain.
                        A castle was built twice on its summit plateau.
                        Today there is a hotel with a restaurant there.
