    The IJsselbrug has two fairly narrow lanes and a cycle path. Today, the bridge is still an important connection for road traffic, although since 1976 the southern Cortenoeversebrug has taken over the function for through traffic between Dieren and Lochem. Parallel to and directly next to the bridge is the IJsselspoorbrug for train traffic between Zutphen and Arnhem / Apeldoorn.

              The Oude IJsselbrug near Zutphen spans the river IJssel, with the IJsselspoorbrug directly next to it on the north side.

              The bridge connects Zutphen on the eastern side of the IJssel with the village of De Hoven on the western side.

              The road bridge has a footpath from north to south, two fairly narrow lanes for cars, a cycle path and another footpath. The latter footpath ends on the west side at a staircase down to the bank of the IJssel. The bridge continues for a while longer.

              The bridge is still an important connection for road traffic today, even though the Cortenoeversebrug to the south has taken over the function for through traffic between Dieren and Lochem since 1976.
