    Visit Lindisfarne Castle (National Trust) and Lindisfarne Priory (English Heritage). Holy Island is also the starting point of both St Oswald's Way and St Cuthbert's Way. Do not miss a visit to Pilgrim's coffee in the village, open from 9:30 - 17:00 every day and try their excellent cakes and sandwiches before setting off on the Pilgrim's Way at low tide.

        First visit to Holy Island, and other than the weather, a wonderful place, plenty to see and do, the castle, the priory, coastal walks. Was very busy though. Get there early so you have a full day (tide times dependant) otherwise there may be long queues in to the car parks.

          Hiked there across the bay which was quite peaceful, however the village itself is a tourist trap. Large busy car park and streets packed with visitors.

                  The fortress is worth seeing (although expensive entry: GBP 9 per person, but a nice museum in the history of the fortress). View of the island is great!

                        Holy Island is simply magical! Crossing the tidal causeway feels like entering another world, and once you’re there, the mix of history, nature and tranquillity is just wonderful. From dramatic Lindisfarne Castle, the ancient priory ruins to the cosy village pubs and cafés, every corner has something to enjoy. The views across the beaches and salt marshes are stunning, especially if you catch the light right at sunrise or sunset. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, wander at leisure, and soak up the atmosphere. A perfect mix of heritage, wildlife and charm – well worth planning your visit in between the tides!
