Basilica, Rankweil
From the 8th century, the church on the 50-metre-high Liebfrauenberg formed the center of a large parish, which at times included large parts of the Vorarlberg Vorderland and extended into the Swiss Rhine Valley.
A place of pilgrimage has been documented since the early 13th century. The pilgrimage church "To Our Lady of the Visitation" was raised to a minor basilica in 1986.

Basilica of Our Lady of the Visitation
From the beginnings of an armored Romanesque country church (around 750) was built in the years 1470-1510, when the circular tower, the defensive wall with circulation and the gate were built, the castle-like appearance of today's mountain church. In 1657, Hubmeister Christoph von der Halden made it possible, through a generous donation, to build the Loreto Chapel, today's Chapel of Grace, by Bregenzerwald Baroque master builder Michael Beer.
After the major renovation in 1986, the Church of Our Lady was awarded the title "Basilica".
