Absolutely magnificent summit. Easy to reach from the Steineralm. Steep in places, but otherwise no special requirements.

Beautiful summit with the best view of the Großvenediger, on the other side you can see the Kaiser Mountains and even the top of the Großglockner.
The Steinkogel can be climbed from 2 sides. After the Steineralm on the left you have to walk there, even with a dog, after the Alm straight ahead it gets a bit harder towards the end. You have to climb a bit.

Beautiful day tour from the Wildkogel mountain station to the Steinkogel and the Steineralm. The intermediate destinations are the Braunkogel, the Frühmesser, the Geigenscharte and the Geige. You finally reach the Steinkogel via a small iron ladder. The descent leads past the Steineralm at the lower end of the Steinkogel, where you can stop for a bite to eat. Then it's a leisurely walk back into the valley to the valley station of the Wildkogelbahn.
In some places, this circular tour requires surefootedness, but you have great views in all directions almost the entire time.
