    Rest at the Pompejanum in Aschaffenburg. A wonderful view over to Aschaffenburg Castle, the Main and Spessart. Extremely worth it. Visiting Pompejanum is fun. A look into another world, another culture.



    Bavaria's King Ludwig I had the villa built based on a historical model. Destroyed in the Second World War, the Pompejanum was rebuilt. It's worth a visit. The architecture and the frescoes that have been preserved and restored are impressive.

      The Pompejanum is an ideal replica of a Roman villa. It stands on the high banks of the Main in Aschaffenburg and is a replica of a house from Pompeii, the Casa dei Dioscuri, so named after a wall drawing, which was located in the entrance area.
