      There is a beautiful hiking trail to the castle ruins, unfortunately you cannot visit the ruins as they are privately owned, but the way there is still worthwhile.

        Today the castle is still owned by the Neuwied dynasty, but leased by a private person from Niederbreitbach, who now in the second generation see it as a life's work to renovate the castle and protect it from further deterioration.

        The castle is not accessible to hikers and those interested, an outside tour is possible.

        A reconstruction model can be viewed in the Niederbreitbach village museum.

Nevertheless, the castle is enthroned very impressively on the rocky spur, the vertical wall is "man-made", by the way, because here the stones for the castle were mined, broken and processed directly on site.
