    This railway is being built to reopen the branch line from Alnmouth to Alnwick, the old county town of Northumberland and the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland. It has steam trains on it and is a tourist attraction.

    The cycleway offers an attractive and alternative route from Alnmouth to Alnwick, without using the road. (All options via road require at least some time on relatively busy roads). The surface is perfectly ok for all but the skinniest of road tyres!
