    Andreas Schotel certainly did not turn a blind eye to feminine beauty. Inspired by the artist's sketches, the sculpture "Baadster in Broekeling" was erected here. However, she is not alone, she is in good company.

      Bather in Broekeling is a beautiful group of statues of one lady who assumes three poses before taking a bath.
      The work is by Hannes Verhoeven.

      More information about Andreas Schotel:
      Andreas Schotel is mainly known for his Rotterdam and Brabant etchings, but the female nude is also a common thread through his oeuvre.
      Mies Gips (1898-1991), whom he married in Rotterdam on April 16, 1920, served as the model for the early etchings from the early 1920s. Immediately after the Second World War, Magdaleen Rademaker (1924-2010) became his student. She will be the model for many later etchings with nudes. These etchings also inspired Hannes Verhoeven to create the sculpture “Baadster in Broekeling”.
