    In June 2012, the Wismut mining tradition association handed over the newly built 20 meter high mine light on the Schmirchauer Höhe to the public. From a viewing platform you can enjoy the view over the Gessental and the renovated landscape from a height of 5 meters.

                        Shaft 407, visible from afar through its 33 meter high headframe, was sunk as a material shaft from 1970 to 1972 to a depth of 390 meters.
                        It was used for the underground supply of the former Reust and Schmierchau mining operations with wood, explosives, drilling and conveyor technology and, of course, the fresh air supply.
