Monte Aquila is a great mountain to get an overview of the Gran Sasso area without much effort - a mountain hike that offers fantastic views and insights. The rocky Corno Grande and the fantastic plateau of Campo Imperatore are particularly beautiful here. The hump, which is not difficult from a mountaineering point of view, is therefore a thoroughly worthwhile, albeit (depending on the season) heavily frequented jaunt. A nice round results if you extend the tour to the managed Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi. TourTip.com
