Neuenstadt invites you to take a leisurely stroll through the historic old town. In addition to pretty half-timbered houses, there are also countless old fountains and the castle to see. A visit to the open-air theater is also worthwhile – even if no performance is taking place.

Neuenstadt am Kocher is a town in the district of Heilbronn in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg.

The Helmbund settlement mentioned in 797, which was in the floodplain of the Brettach, is considered the original settlement of Neuenstadt. Presumably at the beginning of the 14th century, this settlement was relocated to the ridge between Kocher and Brettach, about a kilometer away, and the “new town” of Neuenstadt was created. The Helmbund no longer exists today, the ruins of the Gothic Helmbund Church are one of the last remains.

In 1973, as part of the Baden-Württemberg community reform, four surrounding communities were incorporated into the city of Neuenstadt, namely Cleversulzbach, Kochertürn and Stein am Kocher, which moved from the Mosbach district to the Heilbronn district and finally became a municipality.
