Not only a nice quiet dike to cycle around undisturbed and uninterrupted... you also have beautiful views of the Grebbeberg on the other side of the water and if you pay close attention, you will not miss the Roman watchtower.

🚴‍♂️ Cycling the Dikes – Peaceful Riding with Great Views

Cycling along the dikes in the Netherlands is one of the best ways to enjoy the countryside. These raised roads offer beautiful views over rivers, farmlands, and fruit orchards. In areas like the Betuwe or along the Nederrijn, the scenery is especially stunning in spring when the blossoms are out.

Most dike roads have very little traffic, making them ideal for relaxed cycling. You’ll often share the road only with a few locals, other cyclists, or the occasional tractor. The peaceful setting, combined with the wide views and natural surroundings, creates a truly calming experience.

Tip: The road surface is usually good, but can be narrow in places. Take it easy on bends and enjoy the ride at your own pace. A tailwind along the river is a bonus!
