Located in the Coulmes Forest, with no view or panorama, the Mont Noir Pass peaks at an altitude of 1,421 meters.
Little known and far from traffic, it nevertheless offers five very different climbs:
- via the Écouges Valley and the Col de Romeyère,
- via the Balme de Rencurel and the Col de Romeyère,
- via the Nan Gorges and Malleval-en-Vercors,
- via the Bourne Gorges and Presles,
- via Saint-Pierre-de-Chérennes.

Departing from Rencurel, you will be able to tackle the ascent of the Col Noir 1431 m to reach Choranche and discover the waterfall and the Gournier cave.
This road will take you to the cliffs of Presle, overlooking Choranche and Pont-en-Royan, which you can also reach.
