The Zügen Gorge is a three kilometer long passage created by the Landwasser between Wiesen and Monstein in the Davos landscape. The gorge is framed by the Steig and Silberberg rock formations. (Source: Wikipedia)
The Zügen Gorge therefore only extends between the Wiesen and Monstein train stations (unlike the section marked here). The hike runs from the Wiesen train station as a path high up on the edge of the gorge to a particularly striking point, the so-called "Bärentritt", where a thundering waterfall plunges into the Landwasser as an impressive natural spectacle. This waterfall can also be observed on a train ride with the nostalgic train from Davos to Filisur via Wiesen, because the train is extra slow here when it comes out of the tunnel for a short time. From here you continue on the old Zügenstrasse, which is now designated as an educational rock trail and as a mobility trail, to the next Monstein train station.
