St-Sébastien was built in 1285 and was the parish church of the lost village of Oberkirch until 1489. In the 14th century, Dambach became a town and the church had to be expanded due to population growth. During the French Revolution the church was confiscated, but the townspeople collected 1420 livres and bought the chapel back. To this day, the church is owned by the 32 Dambach families who came together to form the Brotherhood of Saint Sébastian.
