The Grubachspitze is a 2102 m high peak in the Allgäu Alps. The mountain is the local mountain of the Lechtal town of Vorderhornbach. Despite a well-marked path and the easy level of difficulty, the summit is very rarely visited. Usually there are very few mountaineers on the way there. The tour starts at the beginning of a gravel path in the Vorderhornbach district of “Schröfle”. After a few hundred meters, a signpost with the inscription "Grubachspitze four hours" appears on the left side of the gravel path and a path begins. The narrow hiking trail leads through the forest with alternating inclines. After about two hours of walking you reach a fork in the road at an altitude of 1680 m. You have the choice between Grubachkar and Grubachspitze. The path to the Grubachspitze branches off to the top left. The other path leads to the saddle between Grubachspitze and Saldeinerspitze. The path continues in a zigzag through the forest. Further up there are more and more pines and the terrain becomes more rugged. The last few meters in altitude become a little steeper and run along scree and rugged terrain. Shortly before the summit, you still have to cross a rocky slope. For a tour from Vorderhornbach to the Grubachspitze, you should expect a walking time of around three and a half to four hours. At the summit you have an excellent view of Vorderhornbach, the Hornbachtal and the lower Lechtal.
