"... The Hallopark extends over the Hallo, a pronounced natural elevation in the north of Essen. It began on the small, wooded hill in the vicinity of the Kaiser Wilhelm Tower, which was inaugurated in 1899, but which was destroyed in World War II That it later had to be demolished.In the 1970s, the Hallopark was created in its current size with around 30 hectares and later added two play areas.

With its large lawns, play areas, old trees and a small pond, the park has been a popular excursion destination for years and invites you to take long walks away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

A special feature of the Hallopark is the extensive lawn with a contiguous area of more than 33,000 m², which cannot be found on this scale in any other park in Essen.

The "Stone of the Republic" has stood at the southern entrance of Hallopark since 1929, a memorial that shows portraits of Matthias-Erzberger, Walther Rathenau and Friedrich Ebert. ... "
