The excavated stone chamber grave Züschen (or "Galeriegrab") east of the Fritzlar district Züschen is one of the most important prehistoric monuments in Central Europe and dates from the 3rd to 4th millennium BC.

The approximately 20 m long and 3.50 wide grave chamber of sandstone slabs is embedded in the ground and was discovered in 1894 by a farmer.

Inside, the remains of at least 27 human skeletons but also ceramics or tools (apparently grave goods) were found.

The stone chamber grave is also called "Hessian-Westphalian stone box" or "gallery grave" and is one of the most important monuments of its kind in Central Europe.

The stone chamber tomb is in a great state of preservation and is worth a visit, not just for those interested in archaeology. Unfortunately, due to vandalism in the past, it is no longer accessible and can only be viewed through bars. It is also possible to visit it directly by contacting the telephone number displayed on the bars.

There is a table with benches nearby where you can relax.
