Suspension or Tibetan bridges are mostly found in high mountains and allow you to cross high and impervious gorges. But even at the gates of Milan it is possible to experience the thrill of walking on a suspension bridge. Just reach the “Tre Salti” locality in Turbigo where the bridge of the same name is located, built in 2008 by the Lombardy Park of the Ticino Valley. The bridge is located about 8 meters high above the waters of the discharge canal of the hydroelectric plant. It is inspired by traditional Tibetan bridges, but in a more modern version. 70 meters long, it is a light but stable and safe structure, formed by a walkway of wooden planks.
After visiting the bridge it is possible to walk along the paths of the park, along the Blue River. Towards the south you can continue to the iron bridge of Turbigo, following the “Tibetan Bridge” itinerary, while to the north you can reach the Centro Parco alla Dogana di Tornavento (a hamlet of Lonate Pozzolo, VA), a quiet green location where the small square with the belvedere overlooking the plain and towards Monte Rosa stands out.
