Das Schloss Rammenau in Rammenau bei Bischofswerda im Landkreis Bautzen ist eines der besten erhaltenen Landschlösser Sachsens.. Zur Anlage gehören Ehrenhof, Kavalierhäuser, Rittergut und Park. Urkundlich erstmals erwähnt 1597. Besitzer waren: von Pockinau, von Staupitz, von Kottwitz, und von Seydewitz. Von letzterer, in Konkurs geratener Familie kaufte Ernst Ferdinand Knoch, Kammerherr bei August des Starken, 1717 das Rittergut Rammenau und beginnt vier Jahre später 1721 bis 1731 mit dem Neubau des Barockschlosses und dahinter ließ er einen Barockgarten anlegen. Er flieht wegen hoher Verschuldung. Die Familie von Hoffmann, die neuen Besitzer , beenden den Bau und nennen sich nach ihrem Aufstieg in den Adelsstand 1778, von Hoffmannsegg. 1794 kaufte Friederich von Kleist
(1746-1819), das Erbrittergut von seinem Schwager Johann Centurius von Hohhmannsegg. Er ließ das Innere des Schlosses im klassizistischen Stil verändern und den Garten im englischen Stil umwandeln. In der Folgezeit wechselten die Besitzer des Schlosses mehrmals. Während des ersten Weltkrieges wurde es als Lazarett genutzt. 1945 wurde es von der Roten Armee besetzt und die Fam. von Helldorff durch die Bodenreform in der Sowjetischen Besatzungszone enteignet. Ab 1951 nutzte die Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden Räume im Schloss als Sommeratelier und zu schulischen Zwecken.1961begann die Nutzung als Fichte-Museum, das um die Abteilung zur Geschichte des Schlosses erweitert wurde. 1968 Eröffnung des Schlossrestaurantes.1972 wurde das Schlossgelände für die Aufnahmen zum DEFA-Film Aus dem Leben eines Taugenichts mit DeanReed genutzt. Nachdem in den 1990er Jahren die Rammenauer Anlage komplett mit Park und Wirtschaftshof in den Besitz des Freistaates Sachsen kam und staatlicher Schlossbetrieb wurde konnte eine zuvor , 1948 , begonnene Restaurierung mit einer umfassenden Instandsetzung durchgeführt werden. Im Barockschloss erwarten den Besucher stilvolle Salons, kostbare Porzellane und kulinarische Angebote. Ebenso finden Veranstaltungen und Führungen statt. Ernst Ferdinand Knoch, chamberlain of August the Strong, bought the Rammenau manor in 1717 and four years later began building the new baroque palace. He flees because of high debt. The von Hoffmann family, the new owners complete the building and, after their rise to the nobility in 1778, call themselves: von Hoffmannsegg. In 1794 Friedrich von Kleist (1746-1819) bought the Erbrittergut from his brother-in-law Johann Centurius von Hoffmannsegg. At the beginning of the 1990s, the entire Rammenau plant came into the possession of the Free State of Saxony and thus became part of the non-profit GmbH Palaces, Castles and Gardens of Saxony. The history museum in the castle only opened in 1967 and the existing exhibition on Johann Gottlieb Fichte, a former resident of Rammenau, was expanded to include a chapter on the history of the castle. Entrance to the castle grounds is chargeable, and guided tours are also chargeable. There is a restaurant in the castle. Even though the castle isn't spectacular, it has been beautifully renovated, and the English garden is truly wonderful to look at for eight euros per adult. Admission is also currently included in the new permanent exhibition, "Cowshed and Silver Plate: Nobility and Everyday Life in Rammenau." There's also a lovely, signposted path around the castle.
