Many ponds, some with lots of reeds and other aquatic plants and many quarking frogs. Very idyllic.

Great, quiet place.
Although quiet is relative ... the quarking frogs are cool and very loud. ;)

One of the loveliest hiking routes in the Aukrug Nature Park is without a doubt a long walk from the Boxberg via forest huts along the ponds.
The circuit combines a route over the Boxberg with the signposted hiking trail 17.
You can expect an eventful hike through lively nature, sights, history and magnificent views.
If you are lucky, you will encounter rare animal species such as white-tailed eagles and black storks and immerse yourself in an enchanted landscape with ponds, beautiful forests and heathland.
