    There are several legends and fairy tales about the Bräutigamswand. It is said that the girls from Töpfersdorf met on the rock and could see their future brides in the Saale fog. One day a girl stood on the cliff and looked into the fog and saw her husband. Her friends stood a little way off and heard the girl scream. Shortly afterwards she fell from the Bräutigamswand and fell into the Saale and drowned. She was never found.

          From here, young girls could see their future husbands through the Saale fog if they came here alone on New Year's Eve.
          But this proved fatal for one girl from Töpfersdorf. She was standing on the rock and suddenly screamed loudly. Before her friends waiting off to the side could rush over, she fell into the Saale and drowned. For the people, it was clear: she had seen the face of a man, which frightened her so much that she slipped and fell.
