Below the Gavia Pass is located on the Veltliner side, so in the direction of Bormio, this hut, which is not only suitable for a rest, but also offers sleeping accommodations. So it can be integrated into an Alpine adventure with mountain arrival and overnight stay.

The Berni Refuge is located two kilometers from the Gavia Pass, on the Valtellinese side.
It is dedicated to the memory of the Captain of the Alpini Arnaldo Berni who fell on the San Matteo on 3 September 1918.
Near the refuge there is a beautiful church, the monument dedicated to the fallen of the Great War and the old Gavia Refuge now in disuse.
